Thanks! My wife picked him out for her birthday present. Miniature schnauzer, from a rescue. They estimate he's about 4 years old.

Even better that he's a rescue. I've never had a bad rescue hound, rescue dogs seem more appreciative, but that could just be my personal bias.

I've had rescues who were pretty much perfect pups from the get go. A few with "some issues" we needed to work on. No personal experience but I know of a couple who had to be put down due to being a danger to people. Even mine with 'issues' have been great dogs with work, training, and love. I remind them frequently of how lucky they are and that they really should be more appreciative. I think they are too.
